3. I can't get my World Watch™
to download the Live Internet Data and Live Maps. Or, I run my World
Watch over a Corporate Network with a Proxy and/or Firewall.
First, we have an update for World Watch users on LAN's.
You need to download it now --here.
Alternatively, you can download
these instructions in an Adobe PDF format here (Acrobat Reader

Use the Proxy Server screen to specify whether your LAN uses a
proxy server to connect to the Internet. A proxy server is a
computer on your LAN that connects to the Internet without
compromising the security of your internal network. If you are not
sure how your LAN connects to the Internet, contact your system
administrator. They will be most familiar with your network
configuration and port settings. However, Express Technologies feels
that this may provide enough information to make the proper
connections. Remember, you may not need to configure your World
Watch for these Live Maps. First, try to make the connection without
any proxy settings, then attempt to make the changes.
World Watch™ Proxy Settings
The first place to setup your proxy is via the World Watch Universal
Configuration. This is accessed through the Options | Universal
Configuration option as pictured below.

Menu Bar Options | Universal Configuration selection
Make sure that the General tab is selected. Choose whether you
have a permanent connection to the Internet or a dialup connection
to the Internet.
Click on Proxy Support.
The following image displays the Universal Configuration &
Universal Configuration Proxy Settings Dialog box. This is the
location that you will enter your proxy settings into the Proxy
Settings Dialog box. The proxy settings vary from company to company
and the names and default settings vary as well.

Check the I use a proxy server to access the Internet if
appropriate and enter your proxy server name and port number. Enter
the Socks proxy accordingly, or contact your system administrator
for proper name and port numbers.
