The Java version of World Watch may be utilized on your company's Intranet or Internet site.

World Watch
®($ Online is an innovative way to display World Watch®($ for Microsoft®($ Windows®($ on your Internet or Intranet Site! Express Technologies Corporation has developed 2 new forms of World Watch®($ that allow corporations to display World Watch®($ maps on their website.

Express Technologies Corporation offers our World Watch®($ Online program in two formats... the Java Version and a Server Version.  While these programs are similar in the sense that they both display one or more World Watch®($ map, there are major differences in these programs.

I.  World Watch®($ Online… Java Script version

This version may be viewed by anyone visiting your Intranet / Internet Site.  While the Java Script version is not continually updating, it does provide the user with the sense of time from around the world.  The corporation’s System Administrator normally monitors the maintenance of this.   

 

  • The Java Script version is located on either the corporation’s Server machine, or may be stored on ETC’s Server. 
  • A World Watch®($ image is created over the Internet, and a new image is created at any Interval of time (every 2 minutes, every 10 minutes, etc.).  The Systems Administrator will choose the rate of update, according to your system’s requirements.
  • All changes to this program, such as the Map Display, the City Names, and the Map Projection, may be changed only through the server. 
  • Each individual views the map chosen by the System Administrator.

II.  World Watch®($ Online… Java Applet version

The Java Applet version may also be utilized on your company’s Intranet or Internet.  This version allows for more customization because it is a completely separate application, and monitored by each individual user. 

 

  • The Java Applet version is a completely separate application, and is not relying on the Internet to provide the World Watch®($ image.
  • Each user may change the settings, such as… choose to Display any Map, Add/Delete cities, and choose between different Map Projections. 
  • World Watch®($ image is constantly updating, and therefore, the user is receiving the accurate time from around the world. 
  • The Java Applet version is located on each individual’s computer, which allows each user to gain the knowledge needed to fit their daily projects.
